Supporting people at home

Allowing you to stay safe and independent in the comfort of your home...
“I want to stay in my own home but I need a bit extra help now...my daughter visits when she can, but, she is really busy with her wee boy."
Everyone's needs are different. Some people only need support at home for a short time, perhaps, to recover from an injury or illness. For others, it can be a longer term.
But what does support at home look like? And would it work for me?
Support at home can be anything from a care provider coming in to help someone in or out of bed, a district nurse visiting to change a dressings, or a piece of technology allowing you to stay safe and independent in your own home.
Support can be for both short or longer periods of time. This canoffer you the control and flexibility of getting the support you need in the comfort of your own home. This can range from medication reminders or adaptations made to your house, allowing you to move around it easier. Getting the right support can lead to greater independence!
"It would be great if I had a shower room...it is becoming to hard to get in and out the bath."
Over the coming months we will be speaking to more people, living, working and volunteering in East Ren to find out what their experiences are. Join us as we explore what your home could look like in the future and what it takes to help you happy and healthy in East Ren.
Your voices and experiences will help us create a better East Ren now and in the future.
