What is Community Led Support?

Updated: Apr 23, 2019

How can communities support each other now and in the future?

"In years gone by I knew my neighbours, I could ask them for a hand if I needed some messages or if anything went wrong, but now I don't even know their names, never mind asking them for a hand.'"

How do communities support each other now? And what does this support look like?

One Size doesn't fit all

There isn't just one type of support or only one reason for using it. This could be someone who enjoys speaking to a buddy in their own home or joining in with a local group...support is a very personal thing and may take a few tries to get just right.

Support is a bit like a Goldilocks tale, it is about finding something that works for you, but can give you the support you want, in a way you want it to be. It may be a case of trial and error, until you find what is just right.
